Michael Pollack on EddingtonRecords.com - tracks
On a PC, the tracks should start playing automatically. On a smartphone or tablet, you might need to press the "play" arrow below. By popular demand there is a cool new "search" button. Or go old school and explore the menus. The first menu has our newest trending hits. On the covers I play all the guitar parts and sing all the vocals unless otherwise credited.
Limelight -- Rush

Living on a lighted stage
Approaches the unreal
For those who think and feel
In touch with some reality
Beyond the gilded cage
Cast in this unlikely role
Ill-equipped to act
With insufficient tact
One must put up barriers
To keep oneself intact
Living in the limelight
The universal dream
For those who wish to seem
Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation
The underlying theme
Living in a fish eye lens
Caught in the camera eye
I have no heart to lie
I can't pretend a stranger
Is a long-awaited friend
All the world's indeed a stage
And we are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another's audience
Outside the gilded cage
Living in the limelight
The universal dream
For those who wish to seem
Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation
The underlying theme
scene is from the movie I Love You, Man (2009) - prob greatest bromantic comedy ever, with Paul Rudd and Jason Segel.
A real RUSH job - but now Limelight ready -- or pretty close at least. Good enough for Canadian government work.
LIMELIGHT now LIMELIGHT-READY
It was literally a real RUSH job, but it's now LIMELIGHT READY, or as close as I can get it. I mean, let's face it, I got a little better at vox, but I'm no Geddy Lee. That dude may play the bass, but he sings some doubly serious treble - which spells terrible trouble which is not trivial if you're not at least triflingly a tribble. I made the decision to try this - perhaps hardest of all - rock songs. In retrospect it may have been rash to tackle Rush. I mean, it's a real rush if it goes well. Maybe I should have left it to enjoy in spirit on the radio or for today's Tom Sawyer - whoever that is.
