My Hometown - Michael Pollack, covering it like a Boss
00:0000:00

So, I have taken a number of requests for cover songs and even for a few originals (like the salsa dance number). It's been interesting trying music I'm not that familiar with and wouldn't normally gravitate to. I get to try new genres and artists.

In that bare armed, muscle bulging, and sweaty vein, I agreed to do a Springsteen song. My sister was the one whose somewhat surprise request put it over the top and got me to do it. I didn't know she was a Springsteen fan (I'm 7 years older, so when she was in her peak fan girl days I probably was out of the house already).

But so many friends of the female persuasion apparently have an ear (and evidently an eye or two) for Bruce that the requests started flooding in and forced the issue. Clearly, I had to pick something Sringsteenesque or in the Brucely ways and manner (as opposed to Bruce Wayne's Manor.)  My sister's top choice was My Hometown, so here it is. Others were partial to I'm On Fire, Thunder Road, Dancing in the Dark. Hot stuff.

So by plurality request although FTR my sister's would have been enough, here it is for Suz and the other Jersey "galz" who evidently have a weakness for the Boss.

By the way, I tried to sing as low as I could to sound a little like Bruce, but maybe I would be better off singing a bit higher like I would usually, and maybe not so gravelly? I'll try both and compare… And stock up on sleeveless T-shirts. For doing uncovered covers.

Also this comes by luck together with some good news for Suz – and news she definitely can use -  new job she will love much better with the same company --- overseeing charitable provision of healthcare for kids who are uninsured or underinsured.  She'll be the boss.  Well, not "THE BOSS", but a boss of sorts in a manner of speaking.  There's only one real Boss after all.

Let the good news keep coming!  So happy for and proud of my lil sista  !!!!!!!!!

Oh, and here's an additional present for my Brucesteen fanz across the interwebz, specially those from my hometown.

latest and final (I hope!) version now featuring a melodious harmonica and both a younger and older Bruce -- perhaps the father and son in the song.....
