Michael Pollack on EddingtonRecords.com - tracks
On a PC, the tracks should start playing automatically. On a smartphone or tablet, you might need to press the "play" arrow below. By popular demand there is a cool new "search" button. Or go old school and explore the menus. The first menu has our newest trending hits. On the covers I play all the guitar parts and sing all the vocals unless otherwise credited.
JIMI HENDRIX
"Little Wing"
Well, she's walking through the clouds,
With a circus mind that's running wild,
Butterflies and Zebras,
And Moonbeams and fairy tales.
That's all she ever thinks about.
Riding with the wind.
When I'm sad, she comes to me,
With a thousand smiles she gives to me free.
It's alright, she says it's alright,
Take anything you want from me,
Anything you need.
Little Wing, fly on.
Fly on.
Regular listeners and fans of Eddington Records may notice that when I post a song, it is almost never the final mix and version. As I approach the end I tend to get excited and eager to get it out and done with. But, I'm usually exhausted from the effort and it's often really late.
Getting it posted on my ER website and on SoundCloud allows me to listen to a track from literally anywhere. I can see how it sounds on a phone with earbuds, on my Bluetooth speaker and I can see if tee produced song sounds good on a car stereo. Over the course of a few days, I fix flaws I notice and come up with ideas on how to improve the song.
I commonly reach about the fifth or eighth version of a song before I can listen to it and not discover needed fixes and desirable improvements.
Little Wing is a perfect example. I am on my eighth version. This last one got some ethereal, new age bells which go with the spacey nature of Little Wing. I also resang the vocals in an attempt to get closer to Jimi's deep and resonant voice. Earlier new versions featured improvements on the guitar solos, the rhythm guitar track.
I hope this is the final version. I'm presently unaware of any things I'd like to work on, but I need to listen to it in the car, on headphones, while working out, etc.
