NEIL YOUNG  (1969)

"Cinnamon Girl"

I wanna live
with a cinnamon girl
I could be happy
the rest of my life
With a cinnamon girl.

A dreamer of pictures
I run in the night
You see us together,
chasing the moonlight,
My cinnamon girl.

Ten silver saxes,
a bass with a bow
The drummer relaxes
and waits between shows
For his cinnamon girl.

A dreamer of pictures
I run in the night
You see us together,
chasing the moonlight,
My cinnamon girl.

Pa sent me money now
I'm gonna make it somehow
I need another chance
You see your baby loves to dance
Yeah...yeah...yeah.

Many of you will be too young or nearly young to have known Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl" the first time around. Well, she made her first appearance in 1969 after Neil Young broke off from Crosby, Stills, and Nash.

There is a lot of discussion on the web about who exactly was Neil Young's mysterious muse, the so-called "Cinnamon Girl". It sounds like she might have been one of the Spice Girls, no? Perhaps she was just a girl who worked at Cinnabon and attracted Neil's attention by a combination of her exotic wares and dancing. Not that he needed any real "raisin" to go with his Cinnamon, though I'm sure he had his raisins. But all was not Nirvana in Cinnamon World. You certainly could gain a few unwanted pounds over the holidays by eating one of those gooey sweet delicious treats you love to eat. Oops, that's a cinnamon roll not the cinnamon girl. I don't know if I would want to live forever with a cinnamon roll. Just saying. I don't necessarily see it as my role. Plus, there are gluten and carb issues to reckon with and, in the end, don't forget that Cinnabon rolls – and any cinnamon rolls or any big sticky buns for that matter – can roll right down and end up in your buns and stick there. So, maybe let's just stick to dancing, what? That really burns off the calories from eating too many cinnamon rolls.  Spicy dancing and/or exotic dancing okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah
